SHEPWAY DISTRICT COUNCIL Shepway Friends of the Earth has written asking a number of environmental questions to all candidates nominated for election as councillors at the forthcoming election (May 1st). Their replies can then help us and the electorate to make up our minds on who to vote for on polling day. This in a similar vein to what we have successfully done prior to the last four general elections and the majority of candidates have welcomed the opportunity to show their environmental 'credentials'. To ensure that each candidate gets an equal opportunity to reach their respective constituents we have decided to publish the replies on this web site. This will also enable voters to question their candidates on the run up to polling day about their replies, or, indeed why they might not have replied. The
Folkestone Herald has asked to see the replies but due to the short
timescales* involved will not publish it's report until May 1st.
* We sent out the 117 candidate's letters the day after the official list was published.(10th April 2003). |
