Thanks for your undated letter which I received a few days ago.

Although I consider the Lydd airport expansion as an important environmental issue I feel that the proposed housing development in the old Nicholls quarry in West Hythe as having a bigger environmental impact on the residents who I represent.

With reference to the Lydd scheme I refer you to my election literature in which I state that I support a full Public Enquiry so that all the issues affecting this proposed development may be fully discussed in the public domain and that a sensible compromise can be achieved.

As for the proposed Dungeness C Nuclear Power Station again I would recommend a full Public Enquiry so that the arguments of on the one hand of generating power by non global warming fuels can be set against the big problems of disposing of nuclear waste.
