GARY FULLER

Hi there,

Let me first thank you for taking the time to contact me.

Like you, I believe that the proposed expansion of Lydd airport will be one
of the major issues that the newly formed council will have to deal with.

My personal views on the matter, based on the information I have at my
disposal, are as follows:

1. It is doubtful that the expansion of Lydd airport will produce any real
benefit to the local economy, especially bearing in mind the recent job
cuts.

2. The local transport infrastructure cannot support any further expansion.

3. The destruction of local habitats during any expansion would be a
catastrophic blow to local tourism and to local wildlife.

4. Expansion at Lydd would have a detrimental effect on the quality of life
of the majority of Shepway residents.

5. Any policy of airport expansion is ill-advised, at best, given the danger
to us all presented by global warming.

On the subject of the proposed Dungeness C Nuclear Power Station:

1. Given the likely effects of global warming, any new buildings at, or
close to, sea level could well be ill-advised.

2. The solution to global warming and to supplying our future energy needs
lies in the use of renewable energy sources and not nuclear power.

I hope that this information is of use to you and your members.

Should you require any further information, please don't hesitate to contact
me.

Kind regards,

Gary Fuller.
