No - don't like nuclear power and all the hazards that accompany it.

RENEWABLE ENERGY
Do you welcome wind farms in the district? Should the government be urged to do more to develop all forms of renewable energy - eg subsidising national grid connections?
Yes - to wind farms and renewable energy.

GM FOODS
Are you aware that over the next year or so the Government will decide whether to allow GM crops to be commercially grown across the UK? Do you have any concerns?
Don't/won't eat GM. Have great concerns.

EMERGENCY PLAN
The government has made local authorities near nuclear power stations responsible for drawing up plans to protect the public in a nuclear emergency. Do you know what Shepway's local emergency plan is, and do you think that potassium iodate tablets should be available to everyone in the district?
Worryingly NO - I do not know what the emergency plan is. Yes, I do think tablets should be available although the implications of a real emergency would probably be fatal even with them.

CYCLING
Do you support safe sensible cycle routes to schools and town centres? Would you make this a budget priority?
Yes.

OPERATION STACK
Do you have any alternative solutions to the underlying problems caused by HGV's on our motorways?
Better, cheaper RAIL links.

RECYCLING
Is Shepway doing enough?
Shepway has made a good start but there is so much more we can, and must do.

Apologies for such short answers. I care deeply about our environment. I worry about the destruction we cause to natural habitats. I am careful about what I eat. I could probably do more recycling personally (you've made me feel guilty about that!), and I do believe we have to take care of our planet. 'Green issues' are very important to me.
