Tim Stokes, Liberal Democrat Candidate, Romney Marsh Ward.

Dungeness.
I do not support any activity at the Dungeness Power station excepting for a winding down of operations there. Nuclear power in itself may be green but it's waste is not. I believe that Nuclear power is both environmentally and economically unsustainable.

Renewable Energy.
Yes please, a wind farm at Dungeness perhaps.

GM Foods.
No thank you, it is the rich nations that will benefit(?) and the holy grail of a hunger free world will be just as far away as ever. I am not happy with cross pollination and playing with nature.

Emergency Plan.
Yes I am aware that there is such a plan and that it is claimed to be periodically exercised. I don't think it a good idea to hand out tablets that will invariably get lost.

Cycling.
Yes, especially here on the marsh where the terrain is ideal. Funding is a county issue and as with all funds vigorous efforts should be made to ensure that we receive our fair share.

Operation Stack.
Diificult this - not. Why should Kent become a lorry park? The Eu should make it illegal to disrupt free trade and passage between member states and the laws should be enforced.

Recycling.
Nobody is doing enough here. Travel to the continent and you can see that this country is far behind in both awareness of and application of recycling measures. We should be doing a lot more.

Hope this helps, Tim Stokes.
