"HELPING THE EARTH FIGHT BACK"

Our world is the most precious thing we have - we believe we must look after it.

Are you concerned about:

• increasing levels of pollution in our seas, air and countryside?
• the thoughtless waste of the earth’s resources and the devastation of the rainforests?
• the ‘greenhouse effect’ and the destruction of the ozone layer?

 

IF NOT - WHY NOT?

Every one of us, as individuals, can help to stop these things happening. You CAN make a difference to your world, because action by individuals makes industry change. It’s in their interest!

SO - WHAT CAN YOU DO?

• save your household food waste and make compost
• recycle glass and aluminium, rags and paper
• mend things instead of throwing them away
• use bio-degradable cleaning products, ‘ozone-friendly’ sprays and recycled paper products
• pass on your old clothes to charity shops and jumble sales
• walk or cycle instead of driving - you’ll put less pollutants into the air, and get fit as well!
• switch off lights and appliances when you’re not using them - power stations will save fuel by not needing to generate so much electricity
• ask yourself - do I really need yet another plastic carrier bag?

FRIENDS OF THE EARTH IS A NON-POLITICAL ORGANISATION.

WE BELIEVE THAT THE THREATS TO OUR ENVIRONMENT, CAUSED BY THOUGHTLESS OVER-USE OF RESOURCES, CAN BE AVERTED BY INDIVIDUAL ACTION. THE THINGS YOU DO IN YOUR DAILY LIFE CAN AFFECT THE LIVES OF FUTURE GENERATIONS.
